We are now getting a number of responses from people who were planning on coming to the alumni reunion. I guess this is a case of better late than never. We are more than happy to keep the tradition going, but we assumed from the lack of response that this date was not convenient this year. Please, whoever is planning to come, take a moment and RSVP. ASAP! The original Evite you were e-mailed has been canceled, so if you are planning on attending please reply by e-mail to info@camplenox.com , as we are trying to get an accurate count. Please include your name (as it is not always easy to tell just by your e-mail address), and if you plan on bringing a guest. If you already replied “yes” to the original Evite, please take a quick moment to reply again to the above e-mail address. If you are not planning on coming, there is no need to reply.

Dear Friends,
With the alumni reunion 5 days away, we still have only a few confirmed people able to make the event this season. It is with regret that I am canceling our “get together” this Saturday, November 22. Hopefully next year the dates will coincide better with everyone’s busy schedule and we will see you in New York or possibly at Camp Lenox in the spring. Please drop me a line if you have any suggestions.
Best Wishes for the Holiday Season,
Rich and Stephanie Moss

No year would be complete without our annual alumni reunion. Duke’s hosted a great party, as usual, and we encourage you to check out this brief recap.

On Sunday July 15th, Camp Lenox welcomed Alumni campers and staff to celebrate our 90th anniversary along with the 2007 campers and staff. The day started with a reception area in the Lodge where alumni could meet each other, have a cup of coffee and look over old yearbooks and the photos hanging in the History Room of The Lodge. After that they were able to move around camp, enjoying the facilities and free time at the waterfront. Everyone enjoyed lunch together in the dining hall, and some alums even stayed for dinner.
After lunch everyone gathered in the Lodge for a special ceremony honoring Coach Moss and Charlie Auffrey. Rich introduced Coach and told the group about the Legends in Camping award bestowed in March at an ACA gala in Atlantic City, NJ. Larry Brownridge talked about Charlie Auffrey, a former camper who went on to coach and play and influence many other people in his life. All alumni were acknowledged and Rich requested the generations of Lenoxites in the audience to the front of the room for a picture. The ceremony closed with singing the traditional camp Alma mater, and the entire Lenox family linked arms and faced the lake in unison.
Many alums escaped without having their picture taken, but you can check out a sampling of those who attended in the photo gallery.
Thank you, to our cherished alumni, who made the effort to join our Lenox family for a memorable day at camp!

Camp Lenox turns 90 this summer, and there is no better way to celebrate this occasion than having all of our alumni back at camp for a special reunion. The event will take place on Sunday, July 15, 2007 at Camp Lenox from 9:30 AM-8:00 PM. Lunch and dinner will be served. The schedule for the day will be forthcoming. Alumni are welcome to bring their spouses and children. Many alumni have been inquiring about a chance to return to camp, and HERE IT IS. This is sure to be an unforgettable day filled with activity, memories, and the chance to reconnect and reminisce about what made and still makes camp so special. You won’t want to miss this opportunity to join us in celebrating camp’s 90th Birthday.
Please let us know if you plan on attending. You can RSVP by e-mail (please include your name, and the number of people you will be bringing) to info@camplenox.com

Camp Lenox holds a special place in the hearts and minds of those who have attended as campers or staff members. Although it was many years ago that I was a camper, the memories are still so clear. Memories of playing cricket for the first time in my life on the 4th of July and getting thrown in the lake on Camp Birthday. I remember the Pittsfield Tournament, finding a hatchet in a Hatchet Hunt, and the thrill of being called down to the flagpole.
If you’re like me, some of your most vivid memories are the people. People who were complete strangers to you at the beginning of the summer. By the end of the summer, however, it felt like you had known them forever. People you may have only spent a short time with and have since lost contact with. Then, after getting back in touch (sometimes after many years), you can pick up right where you left off. The reason? You share that special bond which is Camp Lenox.
We hope that the Alumni section of this website provides you with a chance to recall and share fond memories, reconnect with old friends and possibly make some new ones.

As exciting as the site is, its true potential will only be attained with your cooperation. As you may have noticed already, this page is largely empty. That’s because this is your page. While we plan to post news about upcoming reunions and other alumni-related events, the majority of this page is dedicated to stories, memories, and other exciting news items that you submit.
Graduations, weddings, Bar/Bat Mitzvahs, babies, memories from your years at camp, stories both witty and inspiring, special events, and other items of interest to the Lenox community as a whole. Oh yeah, and photos. Feel free to include a photo or two with your news item.
Get involved now, because the 90th Anniversary of Camp Lenox approaches rapidly. As the summer of 2007 draws near, we’ll be posting announcements about our celebration of this momentous achievement, but our first concern is to maintain the tradition of excellence that began at camp in 1918. We invite you to help us make the next 90 years as successful and prosperous as the first.
